Joann Greenberg Ceramic Art Plaque

JoAnn Greenberg (American/New Orleans, 1928-2013) decorative hanging pottery wall tile. The tile is in an amorphous rectangular shape with edges that are irregular (smooth in some areas while jagged in others). The front depicts two female nude figures - one in a standing pose and the other in a sitting pose with arms behind her head. The glaze used depicts a blue sky background with green and teal colors and textured incisions to represent greenery or foliage. The tile has a wall-hanging metal wire in the back that is fastened to the tile with two little ceramic cat-like heads that act as button securing the wire to the tile. Greenberg's signature incised in the tile back.
